In dedication to

Carl Oliver

It takes many people in the background to make a theater run efficiently and smoothly.  Carl Oliver was one of these people.  He was an electrician by trade and donated many hours to the Marsh River Theater.

He was concerned that the grounds surrounding the theater would not be lit properly. So, he took it upon himself to install lights in the back corner of the theater overlooking the parking lot, along with installing a timer on the lights overlooking the front entry. He wanted all patrons to the theater to come and go from all shows safely.

Many of the additional projects Carl was known for included overseeing that the exit lights and fire alarms worked properly before every season opener, along with building, painting and installing the new outside frame that holds our season schedule. He helped install the track for the flying apparatus on stage to be used for future shows. He was even seen setting up chairs when needed.

When the theater was invaded with a large nest of honey bees in the upstairs back wall, Carl was the man for the job. He had raised honey bees at his home in Monroe so was able to remove the live hive along with the honey combs before there were any major problems.

Carl was honored to be involved behind the scenes of the Marsh River Theater in any capacity that would help.
